Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Berkshire Craft Beer collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Last updated: 2 September 2026
Who we are
Berkshire Craft Beer is an independent guide to craft breweries, taprooms and beer shops in Berkshire, UK, operated from the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
For any privacy question or request, email info@berkshirecraftbeer.co.uk.
What we collect
Contact form enquiries. When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you provide. We use this only to read and reply to your enquiry (for example, a request to list a brewery).
Analytics data. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about your visit: pages viewed, approximate location (derived from a truncated IP address), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is used in aggregate to understand which content is useful. We do not use it to identify individual visitors and we do not run advertising or remarketing tags.
Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server request information for security and reliability.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and browser storage entries to run the site (including remembering your cookie choice), plus optional Google Analytics cookies that are only set if you accept them. Full details are on our Cookie Policy page.
You can change your choice at any time: .
Legal basis for processing
- Contact enquiries: legitimate interests — responding to a message you chose to send us.
- Analytics cookies: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Security and server logs: legitimate interests — keeping the site available and secure.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Our website hosting and backend platform, which stores contact form submissions.
- Our email delivery provider, which sends enquiry notifications to us.
- Google Analytics, for aggregate site statistics (only with your consent).
- Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap when you view the map page, which means your browser makes a request to their servers.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by the providers' standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
Contact form enquiries are kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on listings and correspondence, then deleted. Google Analytics data is retained on Google's standard retention schedule (a maximum of 14 months at event level).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time.
To exercise any of these, email info@berkshirecraftbeer.co.uk. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is about alcoholic drinks and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
